Stolen mobile check
Pakistan’s used-phone market moves fast and a snatched handset is usually resold within days. Mobilo keeps a registry of phones reported stolen and checks any IMEI against it, free.
If you are buying
Check the IMEI before money changes hands. If a reviewed report exists, Mobilo tells you plainly not to buy the phone and shows you the last four digits so you can confirm it is the handset in front of you.
A clear result means no report has reached Mobilo. Most thefts are never reported anywhere, so treat it as one signal among several rather than an all-clear.
If your phone was taken
Report it. You will need the IMEI — from the box, or from another device if you noted it down — and a phone number Mobilo can send a code to.
The code is not bureaucracy. A false report can destroy a legitimate seller’s sale, so Mobilo does not accept anonymous ones, and every report is reviewed by a person before it changes what anybody sees.
Why a report does not flag a phone straight away
Anyone can type an IMEI into a form. If that alone marked a phone as stolen, the registry would become a weapon against honest shops within a week.
So a new report sits as pending and has no public effect at all until a moderator approves it. If you recover the phone, you can withdraw the report and the flag lifts immediately — though the record that it happened stays, because that history is the point.
Common questions
- Does reporting a phone to Mobilo replace going to the police?
- No. Report it to the police as well — Mobilo is a marketplace registry, not a law enforcement record, and it says so on every result.
- How long does review take?
- Mobilo aims to review every report within 24 hours, and the queue is ordered oldest first.
- Someone reported my phone by mistake. What now?
- Contact Mobilo. A report can be withdrawn by the person who filed it, and a moderator can reject one that should not have been approved.
