Privacy policy
PLACEHOLDER — this text is awaiting legal review and is not the published policy. What follows describes how the system actually behaves today, for reference while the policy is drafted.
IMEIs
PLACEHOLDER. An IMEI submitted to the checker is hashed with a keyed HMAC before anything is stored. The raw number is not written to any table, log or analytics event. Only the last four digits are ever displayed, and a full IMEI is shown only to someone who has proved they own the device.
Phone numbers
PLACEHOLDER. A phone number is collected when someone reports a stolen phone, so the report is not anonymous, and when someone signs in. It is stored in full because Mobilo has to be able to contact a reporter.
Uploaded documents
PLACEHOLDER. FIR documents attached to a stolen report are stored privately and are never publicly readable. Access is limited to Mobilo moderators reviewing the report.
Tracking
PLACEHOLDER. The public checker carries no third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
