What Rs 100,000 buys you
At Rs 100,000 you can have a near-flagship new, or a recent flagship used. Both are good answers; which is better depends on whether you value a warranty or the best possible camera and screen. Here is how to decide.
New near-flagship
A new phone at this price gives you the current chipset, a bright high-refresh AMOLED, a strong main and ultrawide camera, and a warranty. For most people this is the safe, excellent choice — nothing to check beyond the usual.
Used flagship
A flagship from a year or two ago, bought used, can beat anything new at this price on camera, build and screen — and often on long-term software support. The catch is there is no warranty and the battery has aged, so two checks decide it: battery health, and a clean PTA and stolen status. On a used iPhone, confirm it is signed out of the previous owner’s iCloud.

Common questions
- New near-flagship or used flagship at Rs 100,000?
- Used flagship for the best camera and screen; new near-flagship for the warranty and a fresh battery. Both are strong if the used one checks out.
- What battery health is acceptable on a used flagship?
- The higher the better; well above 80% is a reasonable line, and factor a battery replacement into the price below that.
- Is it worth paying for 512 GB?
- Only if you actually fill it — 4K video and large game libraries. Otherwise put the money toward a better camera or a newer model.
